Hope you all had a lovely and peaceful Christmas! This post was of course planned for yesterday but was too tired and caught up all day... why? because I just arrived in Thailand! Although I convinced myself I would not have the time to go, I decided last minute that my marketing report could just as well be done on the beach. One of the best decisions I've ever made. If it works remains to be seen.

But back a few days, this is what I wore on Christmas. I love the overly long checked skirt and weirdly I decided to ad even more print, but he polkadot shirt is so subtle it works together quite nicely I think. Although the clutch has only appeared on my blog once before, it's been a favorite this fall and will be available in yummy sorbet colors for spring.

A beautiful denial

You know what? screw this darkness I say. It's been raining slush for the last month... or weeks, but it sure feels like forever. So instead of complaining about the weather I will attempt to bring back summer, or at least here on the blog. I kinda messed up the routine by sleeping in the sun all day and now counting the hours until breakfast starts. But holidays should not have any schedules, I absolutely enjoy every second of not knowing what day it is.

Yesterday morning I wore a new dress, with it's soft and stretchy nature it is now my more sophisticated version of sweat pants.

Behind the scenes with Diesel

A little look at the behind the scenes for my Diesel x Grazia shoot. We spent a day shooting at a beautiful little loft studio in east London with photographer Richard Grassie.

After the feature went to print, Diesel hosted a lovely shopping event at their Bond street store. I tried my best to help host the night without being distracted by those (bigger than) life size posters!

I also managed to ask the new design team, headed by Heikki Salonen, a few words about the new collection..

Can you tell us what the influences and inspirations are?

The starting point was to look at the Diesel DNA, keep what was true to the brand and remove parts no longer needed. With a fresh approach the collection was simplified while retaining the essence of Diesel. We took the concept of creating the perfect capsule collection from a list of garments every woman should own, providing the ability to mix and match premium basics with more key stand-out pieces where all work with her current wardrobe. We wanted to create a collection which has new instantly iconic pieces inspired by the woman who grew up with the brand and is now in her mid-late twenties through to early thirties.

How did the shade of burned orange get chosen, which appears a lot?

A key concept for this female re-launch is to keep natural basic colours inside the collection and choose a distinctive colour that changes from season to season according to trends and general inspiration of the collection. The DNA colours for Diesel are of course the indigo, grey and the military green: the burned orange for pre-sping-summer 2012 adds a touch of femininity without becoming too romantic.

Blaa. The weather in Finland has been nothing but dark and depressing, I've actually not managed to get a single photo taken this week, so lets go with a few London posts instead. I'm actually in possess of an embarrassing amount of unposted photos... December might be the time to get them out of the way before a clean new start to 2012.

I might be overly dramatic, at least when it comes to these, taken a few weeks back. Lovely seeing the Finsk x Urban Outfitters wedges action again right? I managed to look almost tall when I wore them as an extension to my leather looking pants.

A Miista visit

Before I left London I made sure I took the time for a little visit I had planned for weeks. I navigated myself to east London to visit the lovely Laura Villasenin, designer of Miista shoes. The hour I had planned for a quick sneak peak stretched in to a three hour long chatty catch-up session where I still feel some things had to be rushed through. Laura talked me through the whole process from inspiration to physically having the shoes now sitting on her table. Quickly it occurred to me that she is simply just one of those inspiring people who make their dreams happened instead of wishing for things to go her way.

So after a shoe filled afternoon and way too many photos for me to make any sense to this post I somewhat divided them in to seasonal sections. Above is the current collection, some you might even remember from my previous posts.

Below is the new spring collection. Laura tells me she wanted to take a new more colourful and playful approach, drawing inspiration from the Inca tribes and the wild west. I absolutely love the laser cut leather and lase-up heels. But but we have to wait until january......

The shoe below was the first Miista shoe I got familiar with through seeing them on Cocorosa last spring. Sadly the shoe is almost completely sold out as it is part of an older collection, so I beg Laura to reproduce the beautiful lace-ups, I am not the only one that thinks so right?!

Online fashion week with Bengt

Apologies for the slow updates lately, still one long week to push through before I can escape the city for a little country getaway.

I spotted this hoodie originally on Columbine's blog, who is doing a really good job at the styling of Styleby magazine. I then later accidentally came across the jumper in the menswear department of Cos.. with it's cosy thick scuba material, it just had to be mine. Also on monday my Nowhere shoes arrived! you might already guess what I'm going to say next.. I wish the heel was higher. Nevertheless I've been using them all week and they are surprisingly comfortable.

My Diesel x Grazia shoot

So here it is! My shoot I did with Diesel for Grazia, that's out in this weeks issue. It was such a great experience working with the whole team, I truly enjoyed the day as I was given free hands on the styling and overall look.

What do you guys think? my favorite photo is the first one, funny enough that is was a test shot and first photo of the day. Luck....? No, good teamwork.

A bit of a continuation from yesterdays post.. although I'm in total basics, reeeeally excited about the shoes. They simply are the solution to wearing a manly brogue without wearing flats. I've only seen acne and simone rocha do it right. When these first came out I said it's one of the ugliest shoes I've seen in a long time. I guess there is always the attraction in the things you can not get or the ones you publicly state that you hate. Me and my fugly shoes are now very happy together.

Spring at Kurt Geiger

During the week I skipped class to see the new spring collection by Kurt Geiger. Since the launch of their accessory line, I've been quite mesmerized by their designs..

The new collection was beautifully bright and surprisingly ladylike. The mix of sorbet hues and retro prints made me crave beach weather, sun and candy.. seeing the brand new sunglass collection and knowing a bikini will also be part of the collection did not make it any easier for me. But overall the visit did make me smile, I kinda know what I want to look like next spring. I was especially taken by the neon mary janes, baby blue shades and caged cut-out booties, but knowing me this list will still change many times. Luckily there is still time.

I warned you the bag might be popping up in a few future outfit posts, so here it is in action. I wore it with some of my basics and the versace x hm jumper I found at the men's department. The fact that I was a little late on the launch and only found the cardi in a large size, proved to be the reason why I liked it so much. I did also buy the palm printed one but this will pass as a somewhat normal garment and I can see myself wearing it more than twice. It's around the time of the year when a beanie is starting to become acceptable, for me it's a nice alternative to those baseball caps I've been wearing more than a lot..

Raising the bar

Thanks to what I today have the privilege to call my job, I go through a lot of shoes. I'm always equally kind to them all, I keep them in the box, wrapped in tissue paper for a few days while they decorate my messy desk. But then one day, I came across Mark Charles. After a lot of shoe admiring and a brief meeting with the man himself, the idea behind the brand became quite clear to me after he said something in the following way: ''When I saw girls waking home bare feet after a night out, carrying their shoes, I just really wanted to do something about it''. So was born his way of not just designing, but way of delivering shoes that serve their primal purpose. I'm talking extra cushioned soles, tailored tight fit, limited to only 500 pairs pair style. The shoes all come in a white wooden box with replaceable heels tips and a little care kit. This all resulting in me thinking.. I'm not sure how serious I can take shoes that come box-less anymore...

If you have been looking closely, you might have noticed me wearing pieces from the bruno pieters collaboration with weekday quite frequently. One of those rare high-street collaborations that just work. Simple garments with extraordinary cuts and details, sometimes it's about stripping it down rather than the opposite. Speaking of which, what were your thoughts on the versace x hm collection? I have to say it was a little bit too much for me... but I did however like the oriental flower print, and some of the stuff from the men's collection, I'll try to post some of my closet newbies over the next few days.

Anyway back to the knit.. I have been wearing variations of the crop top with high-waisted jeans more that I've had time to photograph. Last few weeks I have been especially fond of the combo paired with this beautiful pastel kimono to break up the black every once in a while... maybe the light blue does not have to be as seasonal as I originally thought.

Ahh my shoes. I actually kissed them when I slowly lifted them out from the box on my birthday a few weeks back. My modest wish list proved itself useful after all.

As for the rest of my outfit.. I am wearing a lovely fluffy knit that I stumbled across in the divided department of h&m. Such a nice surprise, how great is the combination of fluff and dip dye? I'm having a hard time convincing people that it was a 20 something pound find.

The high-slit, leather skirt is another winning story and I think I might not be the only one that has been keeping an eye out for this one. First spotted over at Caroline's blog, whereafter I annoyed the h&m staff everyday until it finally came in this week. It was worth it.

I would usually stay away from anything with the playboy logo, if you know me at all, you would agree. But when I found this retro tee in my sister's closet, I could not resist pairing it with my oldest, patched jeans. I added my nineties pumps and the plastic jil sander tote that I've been using a lot more than what actually proved on the blog. All together, quite casually nice.

Last friday night I stopped by the ever inspiring store Layers for the launch of the Gareth Pugh + Melissa collaboration. I spent a few hours jamming to some retro tunes with Charlie, while battling the temptation of acquiring a pair from the new collection. Don't get me wrong, I think the structured plastic sandals were cool as hell, but you know I don't really ever wear flats. Luckily things fell in to places quite quickly when I realized the shoes are all deliberately bubblegum scented, making them quite the impressive air refresher. It's like they knew I was going to need that little extra something to win me over.

I wore a diesel blouse, bruno pieters x weekday skirt, self customized AA clutch, fashionology ring and alpha saphir watch.

and may I ad that I am still as amazed by Charlie's Dominic Jones beetle ring as I've ever been.

I've been filming a shoe video over the weekend! and finally got it uploaded on my computer late last night... turns out it's a million times harder to choose your favorite seconds than it is photos... I'm looking at a major yes-no-yes marathon over the next few days.

Other things I did over the weekend: discoverd my love for this new scarf that makes any layering a total nobrainer, realized I wear these jeans offensively much, wore an old cap backwards... so much for working towards a more mature wardrobe.

This week I have been playing around with these pieces by Mezi... it did not take me very long to get impressed by the multi (multi) chain party and that awesome copper snake, I can undoubtedly say that this is another fantastic thing coming from Australia. I stumbled across this coat over at ebay fashion outlet a few weeks ago.. not sure if it was the fear of the cold weather I was about to travel back to that week, or because it was a ebay find, that made me click it home asap..

the fact that it was an ebay listing, my senses sent signals to my brain to automatically click on the 'buy it now' button, but my point here is that the glory of the outlet is that they have large stocks on most of the items.

Last weekend, during my quick trip back home I could not pass on the opportunity to take some photos in the perfect fall weather! I wore a gorgeous dress from my friends new online store Christing c. that stocks some of my favorite brands, be sure to check it out..

I picked up the coat last weekend when I visited helsinki horse show, it's one of those traditional english wax coats that I will attempt to make suitable for the city. My mom thinks it's funny and I agree, we have been wearing these in the stable since I was a kid. But you know, horse coat spray for my hair and a traditional wax coat to keep my dry, you got to work with what you have.

I also got myself a cute dalmatian because the print is so hot right now!
joking of course it's my sisters overly dramatic dog who just loves the attention.

when I was 10 my dad made the mistake of jokingly promising me a puppy if I had the cash for one. Got dressed in my new nowhere pants today.. they are on the perfect edge of being sweatpants but structured enough to be taken seriously, if that makes sense. Last sunday I flew over to Borås in sweden, to get together with a few fellow bloggers to style the Xmas lookbook for Nelly.com! while I was doing my best to represent Finland, we spent the day in a huge closet and got to and try on the new collection, both Nelly's own and all the great brands they sell like Rodebjer, Jeffery Campbell, Diesel, Whyred..

First we got to pick our outfits, above Trine from Denmark who I already knew from the MTV campain from last spring, wearing those amazing Jeffrey Campbell shoes! I chose a beautiful Buddha to buddha bracelet.

me, Yara and Frida getting our hair done... suprise suprise I wanted a side braid. I think I've only met Yara once before but she is so kind and easy to get along with.

Swedens Frida Fahrman getting ready. I loved meeting her, especially loved our chatty taxi ride to the airport.

Nike - one of the girls from the German team, having a hard time deciding on the shoes... can't blame her though.

Blogging in between shooting. I felt guilty for not doing it....

Then to the styling.. we did two looks, this was one of mine. I loved the idea of wearing a chocker necklace under the collar, you can get the silver and gold here

Later we went to the Nelly HQ, where we also got to see Elin Kling's Nowhere collection, that is being sold at Nelly. I admit to be a fan of every piece, so you know what I am going to be wearing this winter, starting from this week!

It's been a while since a proper outfit post, so here we go. Yesterday I wore this winter parka that was a bit too hot, but better this way then the other. Also can't even remember the last time I wore a quilted coat! Most tend to be somewhat of a belted shape so the poncho approach was interesting enough to win me over.

these boots are super cool... would it surprise if I told you I got them in two colours? probably not. Then just a little note on the bracelets, which I found here. I often feel like either wearing a huge pile of accessories or none, so these being somewhat in between is nothing short from perfect for my current jewellery mood.

Just arrived back home from sweden.. I spent the a day styling the xmas lookbook for Nelly.com with some fellow bloggers, but more on that later!

These are some shots I took during LFW, I am really in to masculine dressing, even if it's often just a touch. I have to admit I've been a bit lost when it comes to being inspired.. not just with dressing but over all. But getting lost in to the world of good magazines, especially men's fashion magazines, has really helped. Spending so much time online, I've underestimated the power of print media.

Uhm I might be turning in to a morning person.. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed breakfast this much. I'm starting to look forward to early mornings and have been walking to uni for the last week, feels weirdly nice.

For the day I wore my new urban outfitters baseball jacket with a simply perfect color combination, paired with a cap... I wanted a white one for summer but as I'm a bit late on that I'll casually ad it it to my fall favorites. I actually think I like the idea of a cap so much that I'll add a few more while I'm on it.

Shooting with ebay

Rewind a few weeks back while I was flying between london and helsinki, trying to balance out the return to normal life with the last summer days, I got an email asking if I would be willing to play model in ebay fashion outlets aw lookbook.. being the big ebay fan and high-street obsessed that I am, I gladly accepted the offer.

So we shot one day last week, with a great team inc. fellow blogger Jen working the poses with me, photographer Damon Heath and creative director of eBay fashion Andrea Linett.

Preparations before the show, backstage at Aminaka Wilmont. The collection was inspired by Scandinavian changeling, where the signature jersey pieces were transformed in to a more structural, fairytale like collection.

the hair was done by Kenna and his creative ghd team. They started off by braiding the hair in sections.

whereafter the braids were straighted and comb through..

a straighted clip was added on the side, leaving the ears sticking out to enhance the whole fairytale like feel.

overall a beautiful collection complimented with a extraordinarily hair, wouldn't you agree?

Even though he did not use them he still ordered them from his doctor every single month! Why did he do this? Well, in the United Kingdon people over the age of sixty, people on limited incomes and people with certain illnesses pay exactly zero towards their medications.

This results in horrendous wasteage. People do not, in general, value things that they get for free. Total cost to the NHS of this one episode? Approximately £800! ( 1122 USD)

For a day at LFW I wore my new zara coat over a thick suba jumper in the hopes of fighting off this cold.. I added a beautiful helmut lang skirt, that I sadly managed to rip within the first hours of the day. I should not act that surprised as I went with pairing a delicate jersey piece, that I am way too short for, with a spiky boots...

for a bag I wore the originally black clutch, that after the paint job from last fall looks better everyday. I've used it as a computer case ever since to get that perfect distressed finish.

I allowed myself a new pair of sunglasses although the warm weather is officially over.. I have to admit I was quite fascinated by pradas blue and white extreme sunglasses that were everywhere last summer, but as I could not see myself wearing them much after the season in question (which I do understand is not always the point) I fell for this black version.. a combination of a cat eye and the classical round shape too perfect to pass.

and the much waited hair ring arrived to the high street, such a find that for the price of a soda I'm stocking up on these.. I have a feeling they might sell out and become one of those cheap finds you end up paying designer prices for on ebay.

Hi there.. me again in my much worn shorts and batman shoes that I can't seem to shake from my head nor my feet.. Might just be some of the last summerish outfits for the season but it happened to be hot on the day I wore this new season aqua blazer.. notice the leather sleeves, NICE. Much more intensely autumny get ups on the way but before that my beautiful cousin is getting married, and I need to be up at 7 am. so more sleep and less nail painting would be ideal, good night my sweetest.

My hair routine

My daily hair routine is surprisingly easy.. I've never really had the patience or interest to spend too much time on it, as I tend to want to keep it mostly natural. I've inherited the thick locks from my father.. don't get me wrong he's hair is about an inch long but has no signs of baldness. So no extensions needed and I am forever grateful.

I've had everything from black hair to short hair but during the past 5 years I've been adding highlights to work towards restoring the original blond shade, while keeping the lenght.. in fact I think a dreaded touch-up might be in order again..

I wash my hair about 3 times a week with John Frieda curly shampoo and conditioner, even if I don't have super curly hair, it enhances and defines the waves.. I do this at night and them I go to bed with wet hair...

In the morning I look like a troll but I'm mostly fine with that. To get shine and definition I use this Dreamcoat spay that's actually made for horses... (yess really) works wonders and as a tangle teezer, but unless you want to be moonwalking for the next 3 months, apply it over a bathtub or outside because it makes your floor very slippery!

To get more definition to the curls I occasionally spay my dry hair with a mix for water and sea salt.

But now let's introduce the dry shampoo. If you are not using it yet, this product will change your life. I use Batiste, they sell it at drugstores in a million different colours and fragrances. I go through about a bottle a week and it could not be better value for money, as it only costs a few pounds! I use it every single day in the roots of my hair, it gives a newly washed look and a matte finish. I love this stuff!!!!

So there you have it, I aim for the most natural look and sometimes it even means using products made for animals, but what could be more natural than that.

This poncho scarf was a gift from when I went to see lindex's new campaign launch a few weeks ago.. I now realize how optimistically I packed only summer clothes to finland, so this little piece of winter came quite handy... It's that lovely time of year when shorts worn with a thick knit, or a long fur paired with open toe sandals totally makes sense.

Today I wore my new asos shoes! a 5 inch representation of what I want to look like this fall. I love the sophisticated approach of a two tone leather mix and neat golden buckle.. paired with the brutally offensive platform. I'm thinking, with a dress or jeans... yess please.

Just arrived home from a super fun and semi scandalous weekend in carcasonne, where we flew to celebrate a friends birthday... I left my computer home on purpose but took a lot of photos which some might qualify to be posted.

for the friday night pool party I wore a scuba dress by lisa marie fernandez, with my hair messy of course but I thought pool party would be the night to get away with that.

I wore a selection of my current in-between season favorites the other day, instead of deciding what I want to look like this fall... but the small taste of autumn in the form of a puddle on the sidewalk turned out more interesting. I still want to think it's summer but the chilly nights have proven my wrong.. I'm now back in london but only for a few days, I'll be chasing the remains of summer by traveling a bit before settling back for fashion week and real life soon.

but before I have to express my love for this practical thing that has been hanging on me either as a dress or what I find almost ever better, a shirt. Need to take a few shots of it as a actual dress so you see what I mean. Simplicity for the win.. but although fall is the season where I usually love going back to all black, I'm thinking about introducing some mustardy yellow, and shades of purple in to my autumn wardrobe.. we'll see

I wore another genius aqua dress out on friday.. although I always plan to photograph my night time outfits before leaving the house, it tends to never happen.. either it's pitch black outside or I'm running an hour and something late, mostly the second option.. or maybe actually always.

So this time I opted for aqua, which I often rely on when going out. This seasons collection is super, again. I wore it with a new choker, simple and simply gorgeous... I think the unplanned mismatch with the golden clutch buckle was kinda nice.

Diy dries hair

Finally a little diy that I have been planning... I've tried two different versions but I guess it can be done many ways.. the diy side of my brain started running wild when I saw this last spring, thinking how I could recreate the simple look of a metal hair ring... after a few days it finally occurred to me to use napkin rings! I did some shopping at the kitchen department and found surprisingly many rings and gadgets to pass as hair accessories..

1. I straightened my hair in the morning and left it for a day to not have it too sleek. Then without brushing I pulled my hair to the side and twisted it to get the ring all the way up.

2. I used a tube formed cast, meant for baking.. by pulling my hair tight while twisting, I pushed the tube up

3. Then I adjusted the height, leaving it semi loose. My hair is thick enough to keep the tube put but it can also be done with first tying a thin hairband around your hair, then pulling the tube ontop of it

4. done!

I also had to try a more sleek version, as I came across this silver ring that is used around wine bottles to prevent the drops from running drown the bottle neck.. the padding on the inside is great to not cause damage to you precious locks.

1. tie your hair first, then like before work the ring up by twisting your hair and adjust to wanted height

2. wear it either as a high ponytail or more casually loose.

I bought some thinner napkin rings to maybe try stacking a few... some have an opeing which would be even easier, and then of course there's a million different kinds to choose from including some in forms of ducks ..... but I'll leave that to the man repeller to cover.

aqua dress

I finally got a change to wear this beautiful aqua dress that's been hanging in my closet for a while.. I first thought I might be to short for it, but it kinda works to my advantage. Before I can make it part of my everyday wardrobe I need to shorten it a bit... ehrm that would be a whole stripe or so........

oh and do you love what I did with my hair? a diy coming up next!

I wore a vintage top that I found in the lingerie section in london's Rokit.. rummaging through the night- and underwear section in secondhand shops is the best place to find the prettiest lace tops!

Shoe love, once again. That first pair would just make my fall but the beige ones would be great with bare legs... h&m surprised with a cool pair that would be willywonkas (and mine...) dream boots. Knowing myself I probably will be forced to get all of these within the next days or so, anyone with me...?

In the hopes of trying to make the probably most featured blogger favorite less boring, I wore my denim cut-offs with mesh shorts.. and in the risk of looking like a complete hillbilly I took to my brilliant isabel marant knit, which actually now feels like the only right decision if you are sitting on a pile of wood in the middle of the forest..

This, with some slight variations, is pretty much what I was stuck on wearing in july.. with a strong possibility of outfit repeating, I might just keep wearing this for the next weeks to come. The perfect cut on these shorts was enough to convince me I needed them in my wardrobe, and the waistcoat is quite timeless for my rock chic moments. The top is borderline long enough to pass as a dress, if I ever need it like that and the boots need no introduction..
